[2027 Spring Undergraduate Freshmen Admission Guide]

 

 

1. Updates (as of July. 13, 2026)

 ○ Changes to Admission Unit

   - Exploratory Studies : Applicants may apply only through the Korean Track, and only re-applicants with the Preliminary Admission Offer are eligible to apply.

    (Department of Human Science and Society not open for selection)

 Specification of the Method for Reflecting School Violence Disciplinary Records

   - No. 1 : 10% deduction from the total score / Nos. 2 to 9 : total score will be treated as zero

 ○ Establishment and Revision of Freshmen Scholarships

   - Establishment of the Sungkyun Language Institute Excellence Scholarship

   - Changes to the selection criteria and scholarship benefits of the SKKU Global Leader Scholarship

2. Notes for Korean Track

 1) Additional methods of proving Korean language proficiency 

    - Accepting the submission of certificates and transcripts for completion of Korean language courses at other Korean language institutes at Korean universities as well as Sungkyun Language Institute(SLI) as qualification 

    - Graduation (expected) who have completed the entire course (high school 1st to 3rd grade, Grade 10-12) at a high school located in Korea are exempted from submitting TOPIK  

    - Accepting the submission of original copy of Korean language course completion certificate from King Sejong Institute(excluding online course completion)

 

  2) Preliminary Admission offer

    - If you are a Korean track applicant who has failed to meet the requirements regarding Korean language proficiency, you may have the option to be provided with 'preliminary admission offer' with excellent results of document evaluation in other fields excluding Korean language proficiency 

    - When candidate with 'Preliminary admission offer' re-applies to the SAME admission unit after acquiring TOPIK(Includes TOPIK IBT) level 4 or above or completing Korean course of level 4 or above at Sungkyun Language Institute within two years, he/she shall be offered an unconditional offer to the next available intake.

      ※ If the candidate reapply for majors or admission units that varies from his/her Preliminary admission offer, the offer would be canceled automatically 

    - In case of preliminary admission, the documents(regarding nationality document, family relationship certificate, language proficiency document, etc.), excluding academic background documents and other activities evidences, must be resubmitted as of the time of reapplication.

 

  3) Additional submission of TOPIK score reports is allowed

    - All documents except the TOPIK score report must be submitted by the deadline.

    ※1st Round: TOPIK IBT scores up to the 14th session can be submitted

    ※2nd Round: TOPIK PBT scores up to the 108th session can be submitted

 

★ Submission Method: Submit TOPIK score report by email to fore@skku.edu, with the score report file attached and the name of the email formatted as “Application Number / Name / Additional Submission of TOPIK Score Report” (e.g. A0000000000 / Kim Sungkyun / Additional Submission of TOPIK Score Report)
