[Admission] (Ph.D) If I conferred B.S. degree in my own country and M.S. degree in Korea, is it necessary for me to obtain the confirmation from Embassy or the Apostille confirmation?

For transcript and graduation certificate of institution which is in Korea, you don't have to obtain the confirmation from Embassy(or Apostille confirmation). But for transcripts and graduation certificate that you obtained from overseas institution, you should submit confirmation from Embassy(or Apostille confirmation).

[Admission] (Ph.D) If I conferred B.S. degree in my own country and M.S. degree in Korea, is it necessary for me to create letters of request and consent for my transcript and graduation

For institution located in Korea, you don't have to submit letters of consent and request. But if you graduated university located overseas, you should submit letters of consent and request.

[Admission] What if the university where applicant graduated is not on the list of the

If the university is not on the list of UNESCO IAU, submit letter of confirmation that proves the university that you graduated is accredited degree granting institution from Korean Embassy located in the country where university is.

If you have a difficulty to obtain this confirmation in this way, you can either

- submit letter of confirmation from your country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Ministry of Education

submit letter of confirmation from the country’s Embassy in Korea

[Others] I am currently holding F-4 Visa. Should I transform it to D-2 Visa?

- No, you don’t have to. 

[Others] How can Non-Chinese students apply for visa?

Apply for the student visa(D-2) at the Korean Embassy at the nearest residential area.

 

- Required Documents: Certificate of Admission, Passport 

 

- Other Documents: Required documents may differ depending on the place of application. Please inquire the Korean embassy in your residence.

[Others] How I can apply for Chinese Student’s visa.

- From March 1st 2015, Chinese students of Sungkyunkwan University do not have to submit 「Visa Number. Chinese students need to apply for the student visa(D-2) at the Korean Embassy in China at the nearest residential area.

 

1) Applicant

 - The students who currently do not have Korean Visa.

 - The students currently staying in Korea but who are scheduled to return to China and come back to Korea in next year.

 

2) Application Documents

- Required Documents: Certificate of Admission, Passport

 - Other Documents: Required documents may differ depending on the place of application. Please inquire the Korean embassy in your residence.

[Others] Is it mandatory for me to attend ‘International Student Orientation’?

- Orientation for Newly Accepted Students will be held at the beginning of the semester and will provide information on course registration, academic schedule guide, campus life and stay in Korea. It is mandatory to attend and the school is not responsible for disadvantages caused by your absence. 

[Academics] SKKU offers many English taught courses. Can I finish my undergraduate program by taking the English taught courses only?

- All lectures in the Division of International Studies and 70% of the lectures in the Business School are provided in English. Therefore, those who apply for either international studies or business studies can graduate by taking the English-taught lectures only.

 

However, it is difficult to graduate by taking English-taught lectures only in the remaining departments. It is recommended that international students have an intermediate or higher level of Korean language proficiency.

Except the students of the Division of International Studies, it is mandatory that all international students obtain TOPIK Level 4 or higher before graduation.

[Campus Life] Do I need any documents when I enter the dormitory?

- All students who decide to live in the dormitory regardless of their nationality should submit tuberculosis medical report. 

[Campus Life] I want to know about facility of dormitory.
